Contract: Installation of self drilling anchors to stabilize river wall

Anchor type: Self drilling fully threaded bar with 110mm diameter drill bit

The problem with this site was access, right in the centre of York and the area to be ground anchored was too narrow to use a drill rig which could reach over the river wall. A&J Geotechnical Services came up with the idea of standing the drilling rig on a barge to create easy access to the ground anchor positions. Self - drilling ground anchors were successfully installed and tensioned to prop up the river wall.
