A & J Geotechnical - Soil Nails, Soil Nailing
A & J Geotechnical services are a specialist soil nail designer and installer.
Soil nails are largely used to stabilise embankments, cuts into embankments, old retaining walls or bridges.
They are used by builders to maximise space on building sites and by motorway contractors to stabilise existing or new embankments. Soil nails are usually based on a length of steel or fibre threadbar inserted into a pre bored hole and grouted in place using liquid cement grout.
Other types of soil nail include self drilling which means a hollow stem fully threaded bar incorporating a sacrificial
drill bit is drilled into the ground using grout as a flushing medium and simply left in place or permenant soil nails installed in the same way as the threadbar but surrounded by a corrugated plastic sheath to prevent corrosion.
Soil nails can be used to support facings such as timbercrib, mini gabions or one facings.
A & J Geotechnical provides soil nailing, soil nails and soil nail walls, we are soil nail designers and soil nail installers that offer this soil nail service throughout the UK, United Kingdom.
